I am overjoyed you came across my blog Faith in Home! I can’t wait to have heart chats and share all my favorite things with you!
I’m usually the last to introduce myself but here it goes. My name is Amanda I am 21 years old, married, pretty introverted, and working on having some babies! I know, the baby information might be a little TMI but it’s basically all that’s on my mind recently.
I’m not even kidding! Ever since I was a kid my dream was to be a stay at home mom. I grew up with an on and off single mom who had to work around the clock to support me and my siblings. While I admired her hard work, I knew I wanted to have a stable marriage and the ability to stay home with my kids.
However, I didn’t exactly see this as possible without a life rooted in Christ. Once Adam and I were married we realized almost immediately, doing things our way was never going to work. Although we were baptized two years before we were married, we fell short on so many biblical principles that really make a marriage work. So we quickly began a biblical marriage program, joined a small home church, and looked to the bible to glorify God instead of ourselves.
Fast forward to today it’s amazing to look back and realize we both had been incredibly lukewarm Christians. We would only mention God when it benefited us and made us feel good. We turned away from anything we disagreed with and cherry-picked our way through the Bible.
After our faith grew stronger I started to realize all the role models I previously had in my life weren’t actually people I strived to be. They encouraged me to put value in things like my appearance, sexuality, and social ranking vs. placing all my value in God. I’ve found joy in glorifying God and want others to experience his love and truth.
That’s why I decided to start this blog! Faith in Home is all about inspiring other women to grow stronger in their faith and live out what God has called us to do. There is so much value in a women’s role, and I want to bring light to the deceptive lies that say otherwise.
Proverbs 31:30 “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
I hope you will join me in my walk of pursuing being a woman after God.
